Whittier Hospital announces the expansion of The Children's Center for Specialized Care (Pediatric Sub-Acute Unit)

We are pleased to announce the expansion of our Pediatric Sub Acute Unit. The 8-bed expansion brings the unit to 30 beds. "We are very grateful for all the hard work that has brought us to this day" said Richard Castro, Whittier Hospital's CEO. "Most importantly, not only we are very excited about the expansion, but we know that this children are going to receive the loving care and the attention that our current 22 residents receive" he added. The Center was designed for children who are too ill or technologically dependent to receive care at home. The Unit is located on Whittier Hospital's campus; acute level hospital services are close by should the need arise.
The Pediatric Sub-Acute Unit is a 5-star facility rated by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) for Overall Quality.
