Whittier Hospital announces the expansion of the Pediatric Subacute Unit "the Children's Center"

We are pleased to announce the expansion of our Pediatric Subacute Unit. The 8-bed expansion brings the unit to 30 beds. “We are very grateful for all the hard work that has brought us to this day” said Richard Castro, Whittier Hospital’s CEO. “Most importantly, not only we are very excited about the expansion, but we know that this children are going to receive the loving care and the attention that our current 22 residents receive” he added. The Children's Center was designed for children who are too ill and too technologically dependent to receive care at home. The Children's Center is located on the Whittier Hospital campus, and acute level services are close by should the need arise.
The Pediatric Subacute Unit is a 5-star facility, as rated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for Overall Quality.
