The safety of our patients, families, and staf is our top priority. We continue to evaluate our visitor policy and out of an abundance of caution, we have revised our visitation policy to reflect the current community response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Visiting Hours

  • Visiting Hours are limited from 8 am to 9:00 pm daily (restricted hours do not apply to Surgery and L&D). One (1) person at a time unless exceptions are made by a unit director or other manager.

Visitor Screening

All visitors will be screened for fever and COVID-19 symptoms upon entry to the facility. If fever or COVID-19 symptoms are present, the visitor will not be allowed entry into the facility.

AS PER CALIFORNIA HEALTH OFFICER ORDER, INDOOR VISITATION IS ALLOWED ONLY IN ACCORDANCE TO THE FOLLOWING MANDATE:

  1. VISITORS TO SHOW PROOF OF FULL COVID-19 VACCINATION
    • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card that includes the recipient's name, type of vaccine, vaccine dates, or
    • A photo of the Vaccination Record Card, or
    • A photo of the Vaccination Record Card stored on a phone or electronic device, or
    • Documentation of COVID-19 vaccination from a healthcare provider, or
    • A digital record that includes a QR code scanned by a smart health card reader
  2. Paper copy or digital copy of a negative COVID-19 test result taken less than 72 hours before visiting. The test result must have the visitor’s name and the date of testing

The following visitors are exempt from the vaccination/testing requirement:

  • Visitors who are visiting a patient in critical condition when death may be imminent
  • End-of-Life Patients - Visitors are essential to the mental health of patients who are at end-of-life. Subject to manager/director’s approval.
  • In emergent situations:
    • For pediatric patients under the age of 17, two (2) visitors may be allowed to wait with the patient in the ED.
    • Patients with Physical, Intellectual, and/or Developmental Disabilities and Patients with Cognitive Impairments - The presence of a support person is essential for patients with physical, intellectual, and/or developmental disabilities and patients with cognitive impairments. Up to two (2) support person may be allowed to stay with the patient approved by a unit director or other manager.
    • For subsequent visits following the emergent situation and as soon as reasonably possible thereafter (72 hours maximum), these visitors must comply with the vaccine verification or applicable testing requirements.

PPE and Physical Distancing

  • Visitors must wear a face covering upon entry and at all times within the hospital, and visitors must comply with any instructions on PPE.
  • Visitors must maintain physical distancing at all times.
  • The amount of time a visitor may stay at the bedside is at the discretion of the bedside nurse (typically under 30 minutes).
  • Visitors are not allowed to eat or drink in the lobby, hallways or inpatient rooms. The cafeteria is open for dining.

Where allowed in the Hospital

  • Visitors must go directly to and from the patient’s room.
  • All visitors and support persons must stay in the patient’s room.
  • Visitors are not allowed to loiter in hallways.

Students Obtaining Clinical Experience

  • Students are screened upon entry for fever and COVID-19 symptoms, and only students that are asymptomatic for COVID-19 and who are not a suspected or recently confirmed case are permitted entry.
